The Malvern Hills and other adventures.

Philip, 3e jaars student Lerarenopleiding Engels.

Dear readers,

Yes, a blog in English! My fellow international students wanted me to write my blogs in English, so today is your lucky day.

Saturday, Jane, Emma and I went to Birmingham for the concert of Imagine Dragons. Eventhough we entered the venue at a later time, we were standing pretty close to the stage. During the concert I realised that I’ve been listening to Imagine Dragons for years now, so that made the evening even better. The acoustics and the live performance was great! Dan Reynolds (the singer) was very energetic and was focusing towards the direction of the stadium where we were standing. I made a few pictures and videos, but mostly I was there enjoying the music. A lovely evening which I won’t forget that easily.

On Sunday we went to the Malvern Hills with the internationals. There was not a single cloud in the sky, an azure blue sky and the sun was shining. Beautiful weather conditions to climb the hills. On our way to the top and at the top itself, it was very cold due to the wind. We made a few pictures with the group and walked down again to have lunch in a pub and have a nice pint of beer.

In the evening some of us went bowling at a nearby bowling centre. I’m not the greatest bowler, but I enjoyed it a lot. I even managed to hit two strikes. Next to the bowling lanes, there was a small arcade with a DDM machine and a basketball mini-game. Of course I had to try these! Good music, Dutch beer (they served Grolsch) and friends. What else do you need in lovely England?

On Tuesday we went out for dinner at Mexican restaurant called Bodega. I love Mexican food in general, so I was happy we chose this place. The food was delicious and the mojito was good as well. We are going to go there more often, because they also have a lunch deal for only 6 pounds.

The last couple of days it has been snowing here in Worcester. I love snow, and the beautiful aesthetic it creates, but I hate the cold. The ‘Beast of the East’ is coming to terrorise the UK tomorrow. Which is quite unfortunate, because my parents are coming over tomorrow and are staying here for a week. That’s why the next blog will be a bit later, but you guys will survive.

Lots of love from Worcester!
