First Impression
Lisanne Paauw, student Lerarenopleiding Engels.
As Amber-Roos and I had to run to catch our plane because tax-free shopping and food was more interesting than keeping our eye on the clock, the adventure had started.
It is going to take me a while to get used to people driving on the left side of the road, I was very disoriented in the city. However, Amber-Roos, Isa and I found our way in the city and I bought the necessary things to survive the first night in our rooms at StranHalls. The city has beautiful buildings, though it’s sad to see that many buildings are poorly maintained.
Aside from Amber-Roos and Isa, there are several other students from different country’s who are studying abroad here as well. The three of us met up with a few of them and they all seemed very nice with quite a lot of common interests.
Overall my first impression is good. There are a lot of shops, supermarkets, bars and restaurants. Although I like shopping, I am not a city person. So hopefully I get to explore some nature soon!
