Op 20-22 november 2019 was docent-onderzoeker Ellen Lakens-Van Veldhoven (rechts op de foto) op het congres van de European Legal Tech Association in Madrid.

Ellen: “At a succesful ELTA Legal Tech congress we met lots of likeminded people from 39 countries. Our key take away is: Innovation is more about PEOPLE and PROCESS than about PLATFORMS and LEGAL TECH TOOLS. Hence, (legal) design thinking is essential to make innovation successful. Innovation is much more than technology, it’s a mindset. Once again it was stressed that a data driven future has to be built on solid grounds. Investing in the legal professionals of the future is of great importance. We were happy to hear that one of ELTA’s plans for the nearby future is to draft a curriculum for legal tech education at law schools/Universities. The way we have joined forces at the LTA HBO-Rechten was mentioned as a great example of successful collaboration in developing future proof education.”
