Well organised and successful first ESE day!
Lecturers Remko Welling and John van den Hooven of Embedded Systems Engineering (ESE) have had a lot of work to do. The result is an extremely well organised and successful first ESE day! The day was prepared into perfection on Friday 27 January including this very own event site. There was also help from our own student body.

ESE community
The ESE day was more or less compulsory for every ESE student and lecturer, allowing foundation to be laid for a close-knit ESE community. We counted about 60 students and most of the ESE teachers also attended.
A number of alumni were guests to share their personal (work) stories with live presentations. Each student was even handed a personal programme, which listed the chosen workshops and presentations, including times and where to be. To properly involve international students, English was the language of communication throughout the day, which was greatly appreciated by this group of students.
Workshops and presentations
The morning was filled with:

Keynote Microsoft
After lunch, an energetic but also profound talk was given by keynote speaker Eric van Uum. He is an engineer specialist in Cloud Internet of Things Azure and Edge computing at Microsoft. The room had full attention and you could see Van Uum visibly perk up when students also asked some very good questions. The day ended with a fun game and a nice (networking) drink.
