Warm expression of support from Mayor Marcouch for student team HAN4L

The international HAN4L student team received a very warm expression of support from Arnhem mayor Ahmed Marcouch on Thursday afternoon 19 January.

The mayor is delighted that besides participating in an international rally, there is also a social aspect to this multi-year project. Namely, helping underprivileged children in sparsely populated regions of Morocco with educational supplies and other much-needed items.

Bridge between the Netherlands and Morocco

With this project in mind, Marcouch is also keen to build a bridge between the Netherlands and Morocco, where deepening knowledge of each other’s society, culture and language can be boosted.

Suburb presentation

During the convivial gathering, the mayor was updated on the latest developments and also took a seat behind the wheel of a Renault 4L. He was shown a suburb retrospective of the past two editions of the rally. Furthermore, a couple of HAN4L student representatives outlined a nice and realistic future vision for this student project.

Electrically driven rear axle

HAN4L also received help from the student team MORE Vehicle last semester. They have developed an electrically powered rear axle, so that HAN4L can make the journey through the desert in the future in a hybrid way. Great this student collaboration!

Track & trace modules

And there was even more good news for HAN4L. Track & trace modules were recently donated to the HAN4L team from the hands of V-Tron account manager Vincent van Beek. These modules are capable of tracking the HAN’s Renault’s 4L during the tough rally journey through deserts and into the interior of Morocco.

This will allow those at home to track exactly where the Renault’s 4L are and the status of the humanitarian challenge. The code will be shared on HAN4L’s Instagram in the second week of February.

What is the goal of HAN4L?

HAN4L aims to develop students’ personal, professional and technical skills. As a team member, you will also receive credits for this.

HAN4L has one and the same goal in mind, namely participating in the 4L Trophy Rally (16 – 26 February 2023) and contributing to a good cause. HAN4L is a non-profit organization, so everything goes to charity and helping other people.

Donate too!

The student team welcomes anything you want to contribute through this donation page, whether it’s a financial donation or something to do with:

  • School supplies
  • Computer supplies
  • Medical supplies
  • Sports supplies
  • Non-perishable food

The students also appreciate it if you share their goal with your friends and family. To do so, check out HAN4L’s Instagram.
