Students conquer Embedded World 2024: AI, quantum computing & more!

41 enthusiastic students and lecturers from Embedded Systems Engineering and Electrical Engineering ventured to the annual Embedded World conference in Nuremberg from 9 to 11 April. For three days, they immersed themselves in the latest technologies and trends in this field.

Accommodations were at a cozy youth hostel, where they could unwind and chat about their day’s adventures after a long day full of impressions.

The first day featured a captivating lecture on security and quantum computing, given by 7 employees of Gemini Embedded Technology. CEO Herbert Verheijden and ESE alumnus Thomas Randwijk took the students on a journey through this complex world.

On day two, they hit the show floor. Artificial intelligence was the big theme, with numerous companies showcasing their latest AI solutions. Of course, there was also attention for IoT and more traditional technologies.

The students were spoiled for choice with all the exciting innovations. The return trip took them to Würth Electronics, where they learned more about, among other things, coils and inductors. The HAN Solarboat Team was also discussed, as were sponsoring opportunities for new projects.

This trip was an unforgettable experience with a lot of learning and new contacts.
