S6 project SPARC works towards a cleaner and brighter future
SPARC is a S6-group of in particular Automotive Engineering students, but also Mechabical Engineering, Industrial Design and Industrial Engineering and Management. They want to realise a new way of traveling on behalf of V-tron.
If we use every vehicle what it is made for, we would not have traffic issues. If every seat was filled, we would have 75% less cars on the road. The traffic flow is perfect and every square feet used for its function. Unfortunately we use only a few percentage of our vehicles. To solve this problem we created SPARC. By creating a scalable platform, based on a use case, value case and business case, that will get us one step closer to the technological transition to level five autonomous driving. The SPARC use case focuses on intercity transport of people and cargo.
The platform is modular and can grow from small and maneuverable to long with large carrying capacity. SPARC is Open Source. Use what is already there, what is already known.
SPARC is a multiple disciplinary project that will continue for six semesters. Every semester with different student groups from different backgrounds and educations.

Proud to be – together with Sjoerd Timmermans – their Sr Engineer.
And we’ve only just begun! 😉
