Semester 6 Knowledge Session “Engineering with Composites”: 70 Students, 6 Teams, 4 Companies and 4 Experts
Semester 6 teams of MORE, SPARC, Ebusco, Polytec, Cato Composites and Q-Concepts (70 students) joined on 13 April 2022 at the PowerLab – IPKW for the second Semester 6 Knowledge Session of the HAN School of Engineering and Automotive to gain more understanding of Engineering with Composites.
Semester 6 Teams consist of Automotive Engineering, Embedded Systems Engineering, Industrial Design Engineering, Industrial Engineering and Management, Industrial Power Systems and Mechanical Engineering students.
Peter Coppens (Project manager / Business development at HAN Automotive Research) started the knowledge session by introducing the Smart Production Centre (SPC), a graph to indicate the relation between Product, Market, Technology and the Production Volume and finally the Construction Triangle.
To give insights in engineering in composites, production and to work on a case, four companies, partners in Semester 6, were invited.
Mr. Edwin van Herpt, Director Composites at Ebusco, Mr. Joost van Lindert, Owner and Managing Director at Cato Composites and Mr. Jurian Rademaker, Founder and entrepreneur at Q Concepts shared their passion and inspired the students of all our schools’ degree courses and specialisations to work on a case, introduced by Jurian Rademaker.
For the case, all semester 6 teams worked on multiple aspects, supported by our business partners and experts of our school and e.g. HAN Automotive Research. After 90 minutes of brainstorm, quick research, good thinking and a lot of discussion, possible solution directions were presented.
The Semester 6 Knowledge Session ended with networking drinks and bites. Lots of questions were asked, internship and graduation options were discussed.
