The completion of the S2 project of HAN students Mechanical Engineering (ME) will be fun and also festive. This will take place on Thursday morning 2 June in the education building at Ruitenberglaan 26 (B wing ground floor). Also interesting for students who follow another study, you are welcome!

The students have designed a mechanical battery this semester. The solutions are very different, because mechanical energy storage can be done in many ways. In the morning, the products are demonstrated by all groups. So it’s great to come and admire all the creativity!

S2 Competition

There is also a competition element: which battery has the highest efficiency? Each battery has to store 10 Joule of energy. This is a mass of 2kg that drops half a meter. After a short time, the energy must be released to lift a weight. Whoever can hoist the highest, therefore has the highest efficiency. Besides the competition on efficiency, there are two other categories in the competition: innovation and quality (finish).

Exciting, we are very curious, because senior ME students form the jury and they will be very critical 🙂
