Meet & Greet and kickoff Semester 6: get in touch with clients of projects

Semester 6 started in the Event Week with the Meet & Greet (M&G) on Tuesday afternoon, 24 January in the education building on Ruitenberglaan 29. Information about the projects was made available prior to the M&G. This was done in the form of a description of the projects. Students could choose from 14 current multidisciplinary projects. The kickoff was held on Friday 27 January.

These are the projects!

  1. ADAS Demo Trailer
  2. Coorporative Robotics Lab
  3. DKTI Business Case Battery Range Extender
  4. EmitO
  5. Engines and Fuels Knowledge Center
  6. H2 Modus
  7. Innovative Thermal management on Electric Hyster Big Trucks
  8. MONO-ROD
  9. MORE
  10. MultiTEC
  11. Production in TPC optimisation
  12. Regterschot Engineering
  13. SPARC-2
  14. The struggle for control

During the M&G you could get in touch with the clients of these projects. You could ask questions and indicate if you are interested in the project.

Do some preparation

Be aware you’re not the only student the client talks to. So make sure that the client of the projects you would like to participate in, knows who you are. This can be done by, for example, a CV or you can leave a portfolio (with recent photo). Also clearly indicate what distinguishes you from your fellow students: things you want to learn or skills you have that could be useful to the project.

After the M&G you could indicate your preference. Of course clients could also indicate which students they would like to see in their project.

Both the preferences of students and clients were influence the optimal placement that was communicated later that week.

What is Semester 6 (S6) about?

In this unit of study, we offer specific, actual and real innovation projects related to Engineering and Automotive. All projects are owned by a company or organisation in the industry, or by HAN School of Engineering and Automotive.

The multidisciplinary project teams are composed of students with specialisations in the fields of expertise that are relevant for the project. This builds on experiences from S3 and S4.

Also the professional attitude has been trained during the internship will be used in S6. Because of the new territory we will explore in most projects research will get attention to gain new knowledge.

Outstanding projects

  • Projects, mostly commissioned by companies with a technical, industrial or automotive problem.
  • The complete project descriptions will follow early January. Before Xmas initial project information will be shared.
