It is particularly populair with expatriates who do not have a local network of friends, hobby-players or family. So do not be caught sitting around: enjoy your time abroad, and get to meet new people!

Melissa started this group. “We’re comprised of mostly foreign born people but there are a few Dutch people here as well. That’s normally because they have an expat partner or lived so long outside of the Netherlands that they feel like an expat themselves. We do get a lot of requests, especially lately, from Dutch people. Mostly they are just looking for a social group. We thank you all for your interest but there are many Arnhem social groups on MeetUp which are not expat focussed. Therefore please request membership only if you are an expat or in a relationship with one. We appreciate the offers of ‘help’ but do understand that most of us have Dutch partners, friends, colleagues etc. and are not seeking help. We just want to share common experiences in an informal, fun group environment. Also, we are a group of nice people. We don’t tolerate any negative behaviour or comments about certain countries etc. Come with an open mind and enjoy the friendliness!”
