The Ministry of Education, Culture and Science is putting extra money into restoring purchasing power among students. The government is allocating € 500 million incidentally for this purpose. This amounts to € 165 per month on top of the announced basic grant for students living away from home in senior secondary professional education (MBO), higher professional education (HBO) and university students for the academic year 2023-2024.

Substantial investments

Things are squeaking and creaking in higher education and research. That is why substantial investments are needed for more room for young researchers, for training talent, for guidance of students, student welfare and in a better connection to the labour market. An additional € 500 million per year is available for this purpose.
