This academic year, Vrishab Bagewadi completed his Master Engineering Systems with a specialisation in Sustainable Energy. In the meantime he has found a job as energy storage expert at Zenon Energy at IPKW. At Zenon Energy he will also play a crucial role in expanding the capabilities of the team.

“Would you like to see my workplace?” Only 25 years old, Indian by birth and in the Netherlands since 2019. A cheerful Vrishab zigzags ahead towards Zenon Energy’s premises on the IPKW industrial estate, sticks a key in the entrance door and rattles off what his activities are. In his first 8 working days: assembling battery modules based on titanium cell technology, helping to furnish the building, writing software, compiling manuals, visiting business relations. What doesn’t he do as the only ‘technical guy in the company’?

Zenon Energy is a renewable energy technology company that creates technological innovations for energy generation and storage. That renewable aspect appeals to the young employee more than average. During his Master Engineering Systems at the HAN, that interest surfaced with Vrishab.

Passion for technological progress

That passion for technological progress and the shared focus on sustainable energy solutions, Vrishab talks about it on a daily basis with all sorts of people. People from the Hydrogen Lab and the Mobility Innovation Centre, for example, HAN student hubs located at IPKW. “It is an attractive place to exchange knowledge and adopt each other’s ideas”, he believes. “The openness about the progress of various projects is something I am not familiar with from other work environments.”

Vrishab has meanwhile introduced Dominique, another ‘technical guy’, to Zenon Energy. Personal contacts and networking are the way to go!
