How do you show involvement to your course or the AEA school?

Student involvement and contributing ideas are certainly appreciated at the HAN School of Engineering and Automotive (AEA). This can be done in various ways! How? By contacting staff memebers yourself, via feedback moments, class discussions, walk-in consultations, your School Council and the Degree Committee.

DEGREE COMMITTEE

The Degree Committee is also an important participation body. It has advisory and also consent rights on many topics and regularly consults with the management of the AEA school. For instance, it advises on the quality of the degree course and annually assesses how the course is implementing the education and examination regulations.

Being part of this committee, you can contribute ideas and take part in decisions about the curriculum and organisation of your degree course. The degree committee consists of an equal number of staff members and students. The School of Engineering and Automotive has a degree committee for each course.

Would you like more information, to attend meetings and/or become a member of one of the degree course committees? Then send an email message to the degree committee where you are studying.

SCHOOL COUNCIL

Students and staff are allowed to think, share ideas and taking part in the decision making together with managers. They are part of the School Council. This council has direct contact with student interests and the workingplace, and can therefore offer a different perspective on the decisions that school management propose to take. The council meets monthly on Monday afternoons.

Students are compensated for their work and can use this experience in their Free Project and for the professional skills. In council meetings, the members discuss proposals about regulations, organisation of the building, educational organisation, research, health and safety matters and can then give advice to the dean.

The council has consent and advisory rights on various matters, but may also share its opinion unsolicited. The current council consists of four staff and four students, some of whom are members of a degree committee and/or study association or team. Full-time, part-time and master students are represented, as well as research staff, support and lecturer staff. An instructive environment for everybody. A new council will be elected in November.
