Mechanical Engineering project demonstrations: self-designed wind turbines
An energetic conclusion of the S1 project for 1st-year Mechanical Engineering students! All project groups presented their results on 24 January.
During this semester, students designed and built an American-style wind turbine. Each wind turbine was connected to a piston pump and tested in the wind tunnel. This involved 2 competition categories:
- Highest efficiency: which windmill pumps the most water?
- Most efficient use of materials: which mill weighs the least?
Parallel to the demonstrations, final presentations also took place. Here, each project group explained its design process.
