Lively presentations and competition S2 projects Mechanical Engineering
The conclusion of the S2 projects of HAN students Mechanical Engineering on Thursday 2 June was very lively and festive! The 1st-year students have designed a mechanical battery this semester. The results were proudly presented!
The solutions were very different, because mechanical energy storage is possible in many ways. In the morning, the products were demonstrated by all groups.
S2 Competition
There was also a competition element, with senior Mechanical Engineering as jury. The question was: which battery has the highest efficiency? Each battery stored 10 Joule of energy. This is a mass of 2 kg that drops half a metre. After a short time, the energy had to be released and a weight was hoisted. Whoever could hoist the highest, had the highest yield.
Watch the impression of this great competition, filmed by teacher Job Greeve:
Besides the competition on efficiency, there were two other categories in the competition: innovativeness and quality (finishing). Teachers and senior students formed the jury and they were very impressed by everything the students had fabricated 🙂
