Mick’s road trip this summer with his girlfriend
Now I am finished with stressing about my reports that had to be handed in and the exams that had to be made, it is finally time for the summer break. I have almost 2 and a half months of vacation ahead of me. In this blog post I will be sharing my plans for this summer break.
Well of course my first priority is to relax, but I am afraid that is not going to happen a lot at the start. Since I am moving back to Nijmegen as you have read in my last blog post, the first week will probably be filled with moving. Once I am back In Nijmegen I can finally relax.
For me relaxing is working on my hobbies, in this case I have ordered a lot of parts for my car. During my vacation I will finally have time to install them. Its nothing special just some maintenance parts. And my car will need it.
This is because I will be going on a road trip this summer with my girlfriend. We will be starting off in Nijmegen and drive to Paris on the first day. After a few days on a camping near the city center we will be moving on south. We will end up near Bordeaux and spend a week over there at see with my girlfriends parents. After this we do not have a planned out route. We have listed some cities we would like to visit, but nothing is 100% certain yet. If you have an suggestion on what places we should visit I am glad to hear it. I like the idea of having freedom and no strict schedule to follow when I am on vacation, but my girlfriend not so much. So I will see if we really can go on that trip without planning anything.
That leaves the question of what vehicle I am going to take on this road trip. I still have the choice between the Beetle and the MX-5. But I think the Miata will be the better one of these two since it is a bit newer and a bit quieter on the highway. The only problem is that it does not have that much storage space, luckily I found a solution for this. A option for the Miata was to get a boot rack for it. This is a rack that sits on the trunk of the car. Most of these fold around the truck which possible could damage the paint. Since I just repainted the car I do not want this. Luckly there was a company that creates these racks, but then with suction cups on the bottom of it. This does not damage the paint in any way shape or form, that is at least if you install them correctly. I hope this creates enough storage space to store all our luggage.
Well that was it for this blog post. I am going to enjoy my well-earned summer holyday, and I suggest you do the same if you can. If not I wish you good luck with you last couple of working weeks. Byebye!
