S6-project: scaled prototype of InfraWall 2.0

Students Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Design Engineering made a scaled prototype of InfraWall with a demonstration of modular structure of the wall, sound panels, biodiversity panels, and new water rank design.

Reason/cause for the project

Design a sound absorption barrier for a high-way that is made from biobased or circular materials and incorporates 4 functions: sound absorption, greenery, energy and water storage.

Assignment

To improve the previous design of the wall by making all functions more modular (shape and attachments), and to build a scaled prototype of the wall.

What will happen with the project after this Semester 6?

Based on our conclusions and recommendations, further project groups will elaborate the base of the InfraWall and solar panels as well as the whole control of the sound absorption barrier. It is also necessary to test a potential material (mycelium) for the sound absorption properties.
